Sunday Brunch Club - Week 16

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had some former Team Boss teammates in town for the Sound Running meet in LA this weekend, so we got to spend some time with them which was so much fun.
I had a slightly lower mileage week this past week because I had some adductor soreness after my last Sunday long run. Instead of running through it, I took an extra day off and added in more strength and rehab exercises. I was good to go a couple of days later and was able to cap off the weekend with a 9 mile run! I say this every week, but 9 miles was the longest I’ve run in the past year 😋. 2 more weeks to go until marathon training officially begins!
If you’re also training for a fall marathon, applications for my new fall marathon group nutrition coaching program are open for just one more day! This 12 week group program will walk you through everything you need to know to nail your marathon fueling, and the most fun part (I think) is that we’ll be doing it with a group of other runners! I love building community and am looking forward to have a crew to do this fall marathon thing with. If you’re interested, you can learn more and apply here!
In today’s newsletter:
What’s for dinner? I’ve planned out your week in meals and snacks so you don’t have to! Check out my menu plan for the week, and some simple recipes to go with it.
Weekly accountability challenge: For the month of July, we’re focusing on hydration. Today, we’re going to build off of last weeks fluid goals by creating a hydration schedule to help you stay on track!
Science corner: Collagen has been a popular dietary supplement for years, and many brands do a great job of convincing us it’s going to be a magic pill for healthy hair, skin, nails, tendons, and muscle. But does it really help with all of those things? Today I’m breaking down the science behind collagen ⬇️.
Food for thought: As I mentioned earlier, I took an unplanned off day this week due to an old injury flaring up. I’ve learned over the course of my career that listening to my body is absolutely key, but it can be hard to change plans. Today, I wanted to share my experience and why I’ve decided I’ll always choose to listen to what my body is telling me!
