Trust Your Cues

Sunday Brunch Club - Week 65

I hope you’re all having a great weekend! At the risk of sounding like a broken record, again we spent the weekend getting things done ahead of the baby’s arrival. We have gotten most of the big things done, but now it’s doing the little things like cleaning out the fridge/freezer to make room for some postpartum meal prep items. We do have to make a trip to IKEA today, and I have no doubt that walking around IKEA at almost 10 months pregnant is going to be quite the undertaking, but we’ll get some cinnamon rolls and will finally have all of our big ticket items checked off our list.

LA has been a little crazy the last week hosting some World Cup games, which we’ve been enjoying watching this week on TV. I grew up playing soccer but it has been so long since I’ve really watched a game, so I’ve enjoyed getting to watch soccer again!

In Today’s newsletter:

  • What’s for dinner? I’ve planned out your week in meals and snacks so you don’t have to! Check out my menu plan for the week, and some simple recipes to go with it.

  • Weekly tip: Fueling in the summer can be challenging for many reasons, a big one being that heat can affect your appetite. If you struggle to fuel when the weather gets warmer, today’s tip is for you!

  • Science corner: Can how you think about food influence your performance? Today, we’re talking about how our relationship with food can impact our fueling, performance, and overall health.

  • Food for thought: Something I’ve been talking about with clients a lot lately is how hard it can be to trust your body when it comes to hunger and fullness. I wanted to share my thoughts on why this is, and how I recommend navigating it.
