Take the Time to Live

Sunday Brunch Club - Week 46

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I had one of my most social weekends yet since moving to LA and it was so nice. One of my favorite things about the sport of running is how many connections you make. Throughout my time in college and as a pro, there were so many runners I would consistently race against who became friends. A runner I used to race with often is out in LA for a bit, so she reached out and we went on a run together on Friday. I’ve also reconnected with someone I met through collegiate running who lives out here, and we went for a run yesterday on the Santa Monica boardwalk.

I find it so amazing and so comforting to know that there are people I’ve crossed paths with who I will always share a common interest with, and it makes those connections so much deeper. It’s so special to be able to reach out and say “hey lets meet up for a run!” and somehow, no matter how long it’s been since you’ve talked to someone, it’s never awkward and there are always things to talk about. Like I said, it’s a special sport!
