Sunday Brunch Club - Week 17

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent the weekend lounging on the couch and I regret nothing. I’m trying to be mindful of incorporating more rest as my mileage goes up, especially after last week’s adductor soreness. It’s not always easy for me, but I leaned into it this weekend and must admit I’m feeling very refreshed and ready for another week of work and training!
This past week, I was able to join the high school kids I’m coaching for a workout. We did a tempo run around a reservoir, so it was a fun way to get my body moving a little faster without pushing too hard. Just 2 more weeks until I will officially start structured marathon training 😅!
In today’s newsletter:
What’s for dinner? I’ve planned out your week in meals and snacks so you don’t have to! Check out my menu plan for the week, and some simple recipes to go with it.
Weekly accountability challenge: For the month of July, we’re focusing on hydration. Today, we’re going to work on adding in electrolytes pre-run. Most runners get electrolytes post-run, but there are so many benefits to getting them before!
Science corner: Have you hear that you should be taking magnesium? I wanted to breakdown the science behind magnesium so you can make an informed decision for yourself!
Food for thought: This week, I realized that I was experiencing what I call “data overload”. I had too much data from my watch and Oura ring, and it was causing more stress in my life. I decided to take a step back from collecting data, and wanted to share my thoughts on the good and the bad of constant data collection.
