Process Driven Goals

Sunday Brunch Club - Week 72

I hope you’re all having a great weekend! My mother-in-law came out to visit us this past week which was so great. We went out to eat for the first time since the baby was born and it was so nice to get out into the world. Like pretty much everywhere else, it has been pretty hot out here in LA so we’ve mostly been confined to the air conditioned indoors. We have been able to get out in the evenings once it cools down for family walks and that has been the highlight of my days. How things have changed 😅.

I will be starting back up with 1:1 clients in a few weeks, so if you’re interested in working together you can always schedule a free exploratory Zoom call with me to learn more about what working together would look like, answer any questions you may have, and to see if we would be a good fit. I also offer team nutrition presentations, so if you’re a coach, parent, or athlete and think your team would benefit from a nutrition presentation for the upcoming fall season you can fill out an inquiry form!

In Today’s newsletter:

  • What’s for dinner? I’ve planned out your week in meals and snacks so you don’t have to! Check out my menu plan for the week, and some simple recipes to go with it.

  • Weekly tip: Unfortunately, many people are experiencing smokey days due to wildfires in their area. Though summer running is great for the weather, there may be times when you might want to take your runs indoors due to air quality, plus some nutrition considerations that go along with indoor training.

  • Science corner: You may have seen recent headlines about the Cyclospora outbreak this summer. While food-borne illnesses can sideline anyone, they can be especially frustrating for athletes. Today, we're covering what Cyclospora is, how it spreads, and practical food safety tips to help reduce your risk.

  • Food for thought: In a discussion with my fall marathon group nutrition coaching program, we were talking about goal setting. I wanted to share my thoughts on why outcome driven goals haven’t worked for me, and what I try to focus on instead when goal setting.
