Sunday Brunch Club - Week 66

Happy Sunday! I hope you’re all having a great weekend. This weekend is the official start of my maternity leave, and I’m so relieved I made it to this point 😅. My parents come to town this week to help with last minute preparation and to be on call for dog duty whenever the baby decides to make his arrival. For now, we’re trying just to get as much extra rest and relaxation as possible. I’ve also been spending some time meal prepping to prepare for postpartum! As we approach July, those of you who are training for a fall marathon are probably getting ready to start your training block. So exciting! Just a quick reminder that the Fall Marathon Group Nutrition Coaching Program will be starting at the end of the month. This 12 week group program focuses on giving you the tools you need to fuel throughout your training block, your taper week, your carb load, and race day itself, and it also includes runner specific blood work.   • What’s for dinner? I’ve planned out your week in meals and snacks so you don’t have to! Check out my menu plan for the week, and some simple recipes to go with it.

  • Weekly tip: Eating around the holidays can sometimes bring on anxiety, stress, and certain emotions. With the 4th of July coming up, today we’re talking about how to best navigate holiday eating and fueling.

  • Science corner: There are so many “healthy swap” recommendations on the internet and in the health and wellness space, so we thought it’d be fun to look at the science and see which nutrition swaps are worth making and which aren’t as helpful for runners.

  • Food for thought: Have you ever felt like you’ve had so much to do that you’ve found yourself paralyzed and unable to do anything? If so, I can relate because that was me this past week 😅. I wanted to share my thoughts on how I got myself out of this spiral and into action.
