Sunday Brunch Club - Week 13

I hope everyone has had a great weekend! We had a very exciting, very LA week this past week. They were filming for season 2 of a show on (High Potential) on our street right outside of our apartment, so I got to watch them film a scene with Kaitlin Olson which was fun. We also found a new spot to take our dog Charley, although we were sworn to secrecy by everyone else who goes there because apparently it’s a very ✨ exclusive ✨ club.
Last week I hit my goal of running 25 miles, and we finished up the week with a 7 mile day today. Definitely the longest I’ve run in a while! This week, I’ll be aiming for around the same with a slightly longer Sunday run.
If you’re also training for a fall marathon, applications for my new fall marathon group coaching program just opened! This 12 week group program will walk you through everything you need to know to nail your marathon fueling, and the most fun part (I think) is that we’ll be doing it with a group of other runners! I love building community and am looking forward to have a crew to do this fall marathon thing with. If you’re interested, you can learn more and apply here!
In today’s newsletter:
What’s for dinner? I’ve planned out your week in meals and snacks so you don’t have to! Check out my menu plan for the week, and some simple recipes to go with it.
Weekly accountability challenge: Continuing our June challenge theme of supporting your digestion, today we’re working on taking some deep breaths to relax before eating. Why does that make a difference in digestion? Find out below ⬇️!
Science corner: Have you been told you should be taking a probiotic? Many athletes come to me on a probiotic or with interest in taking one, so I wanted to break down what probiotics actually do and whether or not they’re worth taking.
Food for thought: When people find out I’m a dietitian, often their first reaction is to tell me about all of the foods they don’t eat or that they think I don’t eat. However, as someone who has worked with so many people struggling with their relationship with food, I wanted to give my thoughts on why less is not always more.
