Better Days Ahead

Sunday Brunch Club - Week 63

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! We are officially in the one month countdown for the baby, and I’m definitely feeling the strain of the timeline. It feels like we still have so much to do and not nearly enough time left to do it, but we spent this weekend chipping away at some of those things so I’m feeling a little less stressed. It has been nice to enjoy the summer weather and get outside when I can!

Speaking of summer, we have a few things coming up at Fueling Forward this summer! The first session of our High School Summer Boot Camp Series program is open for sign up! This 4-week group program is geared towards high school runners training for fall xc, and will start the week of June 15th. You can learn more and register here! We also just launched our new self-paced course, Healing Your Relationship With Food, and summer is a great time to work on those foundations. And lastly, our Fall Marathon Group Nutrition Program will begin at the end of July, and you can sign up for the waitlist to be the first to know when registration opens. Be sure to check those out if you’re interested!

In Today’s newsletter:

  • What’s for dinner? I’ve planned out your week in meals and snacks so you don’t have to! Check out my menu plan for the week, and some simple recipes to go with it.

  • Weekly tip: Many athletes I work with struggle with a lack of appetite or not knowing when they’re hungry. This week, I’m sharing some tips that can help you re-learn your hunger cues and get back in touch with your appetite to help make knowing when to eat easier.

  • Science corner: Conversations around thyroid health frequently focus on weight, when in reality, the thyroid influences many different aspects of health and athletic performance. Today, we’re looking at what you need to know as an athlete when it comes to thyroid health.

  • Food for thought: I was watching golf with my husband this weekend, and one of the players who was a favorite heading into the tournament was really struggling on day one. She was able to come back and crush her next few days, which got me thinking about how hard it can be to get out of your head.
