Sunday Brunch Club - Week 22

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! After a work trip to Geneva, OH last weekend for the Women’s Decathlon World Championships, I spent this weekend prioritizing rest. I chose to lounge on the couch as often as possible with my pup Charley, and we enjoyed watching some movies and staying out of the heat.
Nick and I finished up the weekend with a Sunday long run. We got in 11 miles, and since Southern California is currently experiencing a heat wave, we had to be really mindful of bringing extra hydration. We wore our hydration vests and each carried two 500mL bottles with Skratch, as well as a gel to have at halfway. I’m working on practicing my during run fueling and hydration plan, and it’s best to start as early as possible to work up to race day goals.
