Sunday Brunch Club - Week 24

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! As I shared in my monthly newsletter, I’ve been dealing with some health issues for the past week that disrupted my training. I’m finally feeling better, and am hopeful that this week I can ease back into training. I plan to go on my first jog in over a week today, and am definitely ready to get back into it.
Of course it’s always a delicate balance between getting back into it and not pushing myself too hard too quickly. That’s something that doesn’t really come naturally to most runners (myself included), but I’m really focusing on being patient and giving my body grace. In the grand scheme of things, a week really isn’t that long and I know I’ll be right back where I want to be in no time.
In Today’s newsletter:
What’s for dinner? I’ve planned out your week in meals and snacks so you don’t have to! Check out my menu plan for the week, and some simple recipes to go with it.
Weekly accountability challenge: For the month of September, we’re talking about ways to sneak more micronutrients into your daily routine. This week, we’re focusing on omega-3 rich foods to help with recovery and inflammation.
Science corner: There are so many gels on the market, and some of them claim to be superior because they prevent a blood sugar spike and provide longer burning fuel. Is that true, and are those gels really worth the money? Learn more below ⬇️!
Food for thought: The CU football program has run a live buffalo named Ralphie at their games since 1967, but this is the first year they don’t have one lined up. Why? Because Ralphie VI was retired early due to “an indifference to running”. Today, I wanted to share my thoughts on what we can all learn from my girl Ralphie.
